Freelance writer - Algeria correspondent for Le Figaro - International Network for Freelance Writers Mélanie Matarese is a French journalist who has lived in Algeria since 2006. She works for the newspaper El Watan, where she was editor-in-chief until 2016. She has contributed to several French-language media outlets, including Le Figaro, La Tribune de Genève, and the Belgian newspaper Le Soir. She also runs a blog called ""Visa for Algeria."" She co-authored the book ""Quiet Days in Algeria"" (Riveneuve, 2016) with Adlène Mediene.
